Welcome to our October Recap!

Hello friends,

October brought cooler mornings, sunny afternoons, and perfect patio weather. It was a busy month on the build, and we’re excited to share the progress made!

Doors, Doors, and More Doors!

If there’s one thing that can completely transform the look and feel of a space, it’s doors. We’ve been surrounded by them lately: stacked, staged, prepped, primed, and painted! It’s rewarding to see each one come to life. From the creamy, neutral tones of Accessible Beige to crisp, clean trim details, every door seems to help define the personality of this home. Never underestimate the power of paint! A door’s color alone can redefine a room, modernizing it, adding depth and warmth, and enhancing the entire space.

Large Profile Tile for a Big Impact

Speaking of finishes…this month has been all about tile, and LOTS of it!

In the primary bath, we went bold with a large-profile tile that immediately gives the space a sense of luxury and calm. Bigger tiles mean fewer grout lines, which helps create that spa-like, seamless look we all love. But they are take precision. Measurement have to be exact, cuts have to be perfect, and layout matters more than ever. Every line, every corner, every transition has to be carefully planned to make sure the finished result feels intentional and balanced.

The tile we chose has a beautiful, understated texture, enough movement to keep things interesting, but not so much that it distracts. It’s one of those materials that just whispers “elevated” the moment you walk in.

A Pop of Blue

More tile, but this time with a pop of color! We brought in a little blue for one of the spaces, a fun and subtle way to introduce personality without overwhelming the design. It adds just the right amount of contrast to the otherwise neutral palette, a nod to both calm and creativity.

That’s one of the things I love most about design. Small details can make the biggest difference. A shift in grout color, a change in sheen level, or a hint of color can take a space from “nice” to “wow”.

Aaaand…You Guessed It! More Tile!

Once we got rolling in the primary bath, it was tile, tile, and yes, more tile. The team’s been hard at work installing backsplash, shower surrounds, and flooring, each with its own design challenge. Tile has a way of slowing down progress a little because it requires so much attention to detail. But in the end, it’s always worth it.

There’s nothing quite like seeing a perfectly aligned pattern come together or that satisfying moment when the last piece clicks into place. And when the light hits it just right? Magic.

Measure Twice, Cut Once

We’ve been reminding ourselves (and each other) constantly: measure and measure again to cut once. It’s the oldest rule in construction, and it couldn’t be truer when it comes to tile and finishes work. Accuracy now saves hours later, not to mention a lot of frustration, rework, and potentially, added cost.

There’s a rhythm that develops on site once everyone’s in sync. The tile crew double-checks lines, the trim team preps for paint, and the electricians finish up fixtures. It’s all about coordination and timing, and seeing that flow come together is one of the best parts of any project!

Falling for Accessible Beige

Now, back to those doors, because I can’t help myself. I have to admit, I’m completely in love with this Accessible Beige color. It’s creamy, soft, and the perfect balance of warm and neutral. Against what will soon be Greek Villa walls, it feels fresh but grounded, exactly the vibe we’re going for.

It might not look like much right now (construction rarely does at this stage), but I can already envision how everything will come together. The combination of these tones, the natural textures, and the subtle play of light throughout the space…it’s going to feel so calm and cohesive.

Stone That Steals the Show

Speaking of calm and cohesive, the fireplace is shaping up to be one of my favorite elements in the entire house. We decided to carry the same stone from the exterior inside, wrapping the fireplace wall to create a strong visual connection between indoors and out. It’s going to be a major focal point and a total show-stopper once it’s grouted and complete.

At the risk of sounding like a teenager here… I’M OBSESSED. The stone turned out even better than I imagined. It has just enough variation to feel natural and warm, but it’s still neutral enough to complement everything around it. There’s a timeless quality to it, elegant without being fussy, and rich without feeling heavy.

When the sunlight hits the stone in the afternoon, it brings out the most beautiful mix of warm undertones. It’s those little moments that make all the long days, dust, and decision fatigue completely worth it.

✨ What’s Next?✨

From doors to tile to stone, this project is at that exciting stage where all the “invisible” work begins to give way to the visual. The textures, tones, and finishes are starting to layer together, and you can really feel the home’s personality emerging.

Next up: grout, trim, floors, cabinetry, and all the final touches that make a space truly come alive. it’s a labor of love at every step, and I can’t wait to share more as it all comes together.

For now though, I’ll be over here admiring these creamy doors and that gorgeous stone, because yes…I’m still obsessed!

🤝 Giving Thanks🤝

Watching this home take shape is a daily reminder of how many people it takes to build something beautiful. From our construction crews and trade partners to the designers, suppliers, and project managers- every single person plays a part. I’m so grateful for this team and for the hard work, care, and craftsmanship that go into every detail. None of this would be possible without the dedication and talent that show up on site each day.
